Last Thursday evening NBRS attended a terrific fundraising event hosted by the Te-Kworo Foundation and Barbara May Foundation. This has been a fantastic collaboration, and our design for the new maternal health hospital for Northern Uganda was unveiled on the night.

Held in the Opera House with stunning views of the harbour, we enjoyed delicious food, an amazing jazz band and inspiring speeches. Dr Samantha Hargreaves, renown Obstetrician/Gynaecologist, set the scene for the evening speaking on ‘Agape Love’ – self sacrificing love for others. Between courses, Dr Andrew Browning AM, a leader in transforming maternal health, spoke about the challenges in Africa and the importance of these hospitals, and author Philippa Tyndale spoke on the need for a hospital in Northern Uganda to lower the maternal death rate. NBRS Design Director, Andrew Duffin wrapped it up by presented the design for the new hospital, inspired by the Kworo Tree.

The event raised significant funds, not only towards this project, but also to maintain existing hospitals run by the Barbara May Foundation in Africa. We are looking forward to the other two events promoting this work, Melbourne on Friday May 20th and Brisbane on Friday June 3rd. We hope you can join us. For tickets: https://lnkd.in/gg-ieHan

We will share more about the hospital, the design and its proposed impact with you soon.
