Derek is a core member of NBRS with particular expertise in Sports and Aquatic Centres. With over 30 years of experience, Derek brings a breadth of skills including preparing design and contract documentation, services co-ordination, as well as document management and administration.

Since joining NBRS in 2007, he has successfully delivered several large and complex projects such as the aquatic, sport and science centre at the Balmoral campus of Queenwood School for Girls, Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre, which is an inclusive aquatic centre in the multicultural suburb of Lidcombe, Sydney, and the Wentworthville Swimming Centre upgrade.

Derek works in a collaborative manner and is skilled at listening, observing and confidently interpreting a client’s aspirations. Derek has built upon his creative partnership with the aquatics industry to enhance community aquatic facilities.

He places great importance on engaging with key stakeholders in the early stages of a project. This is driven by his commitment to creating dynamic environments that positively affect the lives of community members and building users.
