Macella has over 20 years of experience working as a registered Architect. Her area of expertise has focused on Educational facilities with projects across all areas of NSW. Macella has worked for a range of clients, including Catholic Education, Edmund Rice Education Australia and, more recently, Schools Infrastructure NSW.
Since joining the NBRS Education team in 2018, Macella has implemented her knowledge and experience to design learning environments that support a range of teaching and learning modes. As National Practice and Sector Lead - Education, she is part of the business leadership responsible for a team of 30 architects specialising in Educational facilities. Her focus is guiding research, design and documentation and establishing long-term partnerships with our clients, consultants and builders.
Macella’s strength is her ability to understand complex situations and develop strategies that improve outcomes for any project. She works collaboratively with all parties involved in development, from client representatives and stakeholders to consultants and head contractors.
She holds a strong belief that communication, verbal, written or visual is key to the delivery of quality architecture.
Macella has recently contributed to a paper on DfMA during the design and consultation process for a multicampus high school within the Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta. She is also involved in a volumetric DfMA procurement for a K-12 Catholic School in Mandurah, WA.
