At the Wagga Wagga Agricultural Institute, NBRS has designed a new agricultural research facility as well as an extension and upgrade to its Genome Research Laboratory and administrative offices for DPIE.

“The success of the project has been the strong master planning and flexibility to incorporate new ideas.”

The focus of this new facility is to provide the research required to improve the viability, profitability, adaptability and variability of mixed farms in southern NSW and the viticulture industry throughout NSW.

The $10m project includes the construction of the 1,500m2 Wagga Wagga Agricultural Research Facility and construction of the new 540m2 Agronomy Pasture Shed. Extension and refurbishment of the 340m2 Advanced Genome Research PC2 Laboratory and extension and refurbishment of the 620m2 reception and administrative offices and associated carpark.

Even though the project was under a tight program, we undertook a thorough client briefing process and completed the documentation to 100% coordinated documentation for tender. This allowed for a fast and efficient tendering process and a smooth and efficient construction process that maintained the design intent.

The project included a great team of consultants, including local (Albury) services engineers, whose team spirit and can-do attitude helped the project enormously.
