Bendigo Creek Low Line 2880x1800

NBRS Heritage and Landscape Architecture teams are pleased to be working with the City of Greater Bendigo on the Bendigo Creek Low-Line project. Bendigo Creek is a seasonal watercourse that flows over 150 kilometres through the Country of the Dja Dja Wurrung and Barapa Barapa Traditional Owners. Within Bendigo’s urban centre the creek travels through bluestone lined channels which are a prominent feature of the city’s unique character. The constructed creek channels have significant cultural heritage values and are listed on the Victorian Heritage Register and Bendigo Planning Scheme.

NBRS is collaborating with the City to develop a design for an upgraded cycle route along the creek; a project that supports both the post-Covid return to work plan and the Commonwealth Games to be held in Bendigo in 2026. We are working closely with Heritage Victoria to develop a concept design that responds sensitively to the site’s heritage and environmental context and are engaging with key stakeholders to ensure that their concerns and requirements are integrated into the design.
