NBRS was commissioned to undertake the architectural design and redevelopment for Bowral Memorial Hall. The vision for the Hall was to create a modern, comfortable, acoustically excellent, fully accessible and well-equipped concert hall space within the context of the heritage fabric.
The refurbished and flexible Concert Hall can seat up to 300 audience members and is capable of hosting local and touring orchestral concerts, chamber music, piano recitals, jazz concerts, contemporary music, bands, exhibitions, meetings, seminars, conferences, private functions and weddings.
Her Excellency The Honourable Margaret Beazley, Governor of NSW, remarked the fine acoustics and impressive interior of the concert Hall were comparable to Sydney Opera House.
The redeveloped Bowral Memorial Hall is now the pre-eminent performing arts venue within the Southern Highlands region, enhancing the rich and diverse local arts scene.
