Creating The "Knox Look"
Landscape Architecture

Location:
Wahroonga, NSW
Client:
Knox Grammar School
NBRS Landscape Architecture was commissioned by Knox Grammar school to design two landscape masterplan documents to revitalize both the senior and preparatory school campuses with the ‘Knox Look’, a Baronial Presbyterian Scottish imagery through the use of a cohesive palette of plant materials and hardscape finishes that had been lacking in some of Knox’s landscape areas.
The first plan covers the northern portion of the senior campus, embracing the original school building north to Woodville Avenue including the boarding houses, Great Hall and Aquatic Centre. The second plan incorporated all areas of the Preparatory school campus.
These plans presented the school with an opportunity to provide outdoor spaces for students to relax and enjoy, escaping the indoor learning environments while still reflecting the ethos, and vision of the school.
