Grace City Church
With a shift from prioritising Warehousing to high density residential, Green Square required a social and community hub for the Green Square Community to interact with each other. From this backdrop the idea to establish an urban church that would be welcoming, transparent, engaged and connected with the urban population was born.
NBRS partnered with Grace City, a contemporary evangelical Anglican Church to take the design from dream to paper and in turn construction, a reality. The Church is a refurbished late 19th Century Shop Front and warehouse.
The old building required refurbishment works to replace and fix the uneven and broken floors, gaping holes where the rain came in through the roof, and widening of small spaces to allow for gathering and worship.
The building has seen a transformation to become an urban meeting place for the new church initiative, fostering a real-way connection with the vibrant growing Green Square Community.
